Mark Affum

Mark Affum (Board Chair/President) holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science. He also holds a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. As a parent of a young child with ASD, Mark has acquired excellent life experience in helping and teaching parents with children on the autism spectrum. Mark has completed courses in ABA and Autism related management. He is very well motivated to empower and support families who are impacted by Autism. He also loves to see children with ASD reach their full potential and thought that serving as Autism Wonders Board member would enable him to positively impact the ASD population.

Afua Amoah Kubiti

Afua Amoah Kubiti, MSW (Founding Member), obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science at Long Island University, New York, intending to pursue further studies in the medical field. However, this plan changed when 1 of her 4 sons was diagnosed with Autism in 2017. Seeing how tremendous and resourceful her son’s social worker was in helping meet his special needs, Afua decided to pursue a graduate degree in social work to be a resource to her son and other families and individuals impacted by Autism. Afua is a social worker who works with different demographics, including families of different socio-economic statuses, children, and the underserved populations. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Social Work at Capella University in the United States. She is multi-certified in most areas of Child Welfare/Casework, has extensive work experience within the child welfare system, and has lots of volunteer experience working with special needs children and adults. Her experiences as an autism mom, coupled with her education and desires to positively impact the autism population, led her to found Autism Wonders Inc.

Bernice Affum

Bernice Affum (Founding Member) has extensive experience in teaching and mentoring foster children, particularly assisting them in earning life skills, social skills, and preparing them for independent living. Bernice also has over 7 years of experience working in schools to support children with Autism in both county and mainstream schools. She holds a degree in Child and Youth Work and has completed numerous certificates in ABA, Managing Anxiety, Mental health, and behavior management strategies from the Autism Research Institute and the Geneva Center.

Dora Amoah-Budu

Dora Amoah-Budu, MBA (Board Secretary) was born and raised in Ghana, where she was a teacher until she moved to the United States. She started her career in the United States as a flight attendant for ten years before moving to the Finance Industry as a Senior Analyst. Dora and her husband have 3 daughters, and she is very active in her church choir. She holds an MBA in Innovation from Mercer University’s Stetson School of Business and Economics and a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma. She is an aviation nerd and maintains a Private Pilot License. Having been impacted by Autism in one of her children, she hopes to bring her passion and energy to Autism Wonders Inc, as the organization seeks to help families affected by Autism and bring awareness and acceptance of adults and children on the spectrum to the African community in the diaspora.

Isoyor Kubiti

Isoyor Kubiti (Founding Member) earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, a master’s degree in Engineering Project Management from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and a 2nd master’s degree in Software Engineering from Walden University in the United States. He began his career as an electrical Engineer at Spacefon Ghana for a brief period and moved to Volta River Authority (VRA). After several years in VRA, Ghana’s power sector reform created an independent transmission company from VRA called Ghana Grid Company Ltd. (GRIDCo), which allowed him to become one of the pioneer managers of GRIDCo. After 13 years of working as a senior electrical engineer, an area manager, a special assistant to the Chief Executive officer within Ghana’s power industry, and with lots of worldwide travel opportunities, Isoyor permanently migrated to the United States to join his lovely family. Currently, he is the owner of Kubit Ventures, a farming company in Ghana, and a software programmer. He is a proud father of a child with ASD and is passionate about using technology to help the autism population. He is a founding member of Autism Wonders Inc.

Nana Darfoor

Nana Darfoor (Board Treasurer) Born in Ghana, Nana moved to the United States to pursue a degree in Finance. After staying in Alabama for a while, he moved to Georgia, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance and a Master’s degree in Professional Accountancy from Georgia State University. Nana has significant experience in numerous industries, including nonprofit organizations. He started his career in public accounting before joining St. Vincent de Paul, Georgia, and currently working as an accountant at Tapestry, Inc. He also runs a consulting firm (ANY Consulting LLC) which provides accounting and bookkeeping services to small and mid-size private businesses. Nana lives in Gwinnett County with his Wife (Ailaf) and has two children (a son and a daughter), with his son having an autism diagnosis. In his quest to give back and support the community with his personal and professional experience, Nana identified serving on Autism Wonders’ board as a fulfilling opportunity.
