Afua Amoah Kubiti, MSW (Founding Member), obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science at Long Island University, New York, intending to pursue further studies in the medical field. However, this plan changed when 1 of her 4 sons was diagnosed with Autism in 2017. Seeing how tremendous and resourceful her son’s social worker was in helping meet his special needs, Afua decided to pursue a graduate degree in social work to be a resource to her son and other families and individuals impacted by Autism. Afua is a social worker who works with different demographics, including families of different socio-economic statuses, children, and the underserved populations. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Social Work at Capella University in the United States. She is multi-certified in most areas of Child Welfare/Casework, has extensive work experience within the child welfare system, and has lots of volunteer experience working with special needs children and adults. Her experiences as an autism mom, coupled with her education and desires to positively impact the autism population, led her to found Autism Wonders Inc.
